I've learned a lot over the past year:
Lesson #1- Don't trust everyone. Just because someone is nice or appears so, always stay on your toes. On that note, ding dong, I think the bitch is gone. I let the rest of my friends know about what happened in D.R. and how I felt about having to be around the adulteress. It was hard having to let my vulnerability show, but in the end they understood. One of them sent out invites for two upcoming events and I was relieved to see actions speak louder than words. The adulteress was not invited to either. Will she show up as a guest? Who knows. I am just happy to see that after almost a year, I may not have to be subjected to her presence in my inner friendship circle. I am also happy to see that although my friends and I go through our crap, at the end of the day the loyalty remains. As for the other one who chooses to befriend the adulteress despite her trifling ways to two of her dear friends, I say:What goes around, comes around.
Lesson#2: Not everyone deserves your kindness.
I have also learned that I have become a bit too nice and not everyone is your friend or deserves your kindness. It is not in my character to disregard people's feelings, even an acquaintance. I have the habit of being considerate of those who may not be considerate of me. People have often said, "You don't owe them anything. They are just an acquaintance."
LESSON #3: I realized that there are two types of people in this world.
There are those who will not do something that may affect another person out of consideration , be it friend or acquaintance. Then there are those who lack consideration for anyone but themselves and have that mentality of selfishness. Can I be that person who bypasses scruples and knowingly hurt someone else for my own selfish needs? Let's just say that I firmly believe in what goes around comes around and Karma never lets me forget it.
