Maybe Next time ...

I'll bring flats

Today was Joan's engagement party. We all looked so beautiful, especially the bride to be. I can't believe that one of my friends is actually getting married. Better yet, I'm glad to see that one of my immediate friends is in a stable and sensible relationship in which marriage would be the next logical step. Next to Cliff and Claire, I think Joan and her beau are the only other couple that I can see jumping the broom. Most people are just kidding themselves, but better them than me. These two definitely have it together and I'm so proud and happy for them.

On another note, I love Melanie for keeping on my level. She told me today that this is why we will be friends for life :We are like kindred spirits. We can just make eye contact and know exactly what devious thing the other is thinking. She's a lifer. However, she did start talking about all of us having weddings, babies and babysitting to give the others a break- IDK about that one. HA! Red said I'll be babysitting. I think they're serious. Anyway, the three of us bridesmaids were so shambunctious without the shame. We had no mercy or reservations but it was hilarity. I love my girls. See us trying to poke the bride to be so we can stop holding our tongues and get to the nitty gritty. We're a hilarious mess, but I love it.

I spent most of fri evening getting my hair done and Sat shopping for investment pieces to my wadrobe. Love the purse, dress and bolero and so did Joan and the girls. And the heels were so sexy, but they began to hurt eventually. This lady on the bus told me that she was envious of my heels but she can't walk in stilletos like those anymore. I said me either lady.. that's why I'm on the bus! (and thank you ).They all brought sandals as pain relief. I'm the only one that kept stepping. I can't wait until the pictures come out.

I've informally invited the girls to my induction since they asked about school. They joked about my impromptu and splaboo invite. Lol, whatever. I told them I wasn't going to mention it anyway. There's a lot to look forward to in the year to come. Lots of personal changes and new going-ons. This was just the beginning.
