The Stranger
We're all taking part in this online dating world, and we're trying to meet that someone. You know... the someone who we seem to connect with on that higher level. That someone who leaves us anticipating the next time. It's not always an instant click. Sometimes conversation lags because of shyness. Maybe the chemistry is just not there or there is sheer disinterest...
but then there are those special moments. Those are the moments where you find yourself... momentarily losing yourself. You find yourself sharing a lot of "So do I's" and "me too's" . Conversation is effortless and questions are endless. You find yourself in a nice flow with occasional pauses and more "lols" than normal. You find yourself anticipating the next conversation. You hardly know them yet they manage to intrigue you even more each time. Sometimes to the point of irrationality. Oh, sweet irrationality: You find yourself in the wee hours ignoring the time because you're swept up. Time seems to stand still. You feel no sense of tiredness. There's only those amazing convos with that intriguing stranger. That someone... the Stranger. You're both learning something new each time. Teaching other. Opening up more and more. You know you should be sleeping. You have responsibilities in the morning..but oh sweet irrationality-Still, you talk. You go about your day, full from the wee hour delight, deprived of sleep, and still.. you want more. Anticipation shifts from the late night messages to wanting to hear their voice. Convos flow, free and comfortable.... and still they're a stranger. You're sharing even more "So do I's" and "Me too's"... entirely too many lol's and then there's the inevitable "When can I see you?". Anticipation shifts. You can barely wait to put a face to the stranger on the other end of those amazing conversations. That someone who slowly consumes your thoughts and day dreams. They're your pleasant distraction. You feel like you know them but you don't know them. The Stranger. Then you finally meet the face at the other end of those midnight convos and lol's. You finally see the smile that goes with the voice that kept you up at night....the Stranger that gave you those butterflies.
